Is the Feeling of Anxiety now Inevitable?

We currently live in a fast paced world where we run from one task to another from one job to another. Life has become so busy we are now in a position where to find time for ourselves to refresh and connect with ourselves is put way to low on the priority list. When did this become the way of existence? Given this fast paced world is it really all that surprising that depression and anxiety is on the increase!

Many mothers are now in the workforce and it is not new information that the pressure is so much higher than it once was. Not only are we doing our part in providing financially for our families but we are also required to meet the needs of our families. There is one resource in which we cannot have more, and that resource is time, there are many days were a few extra hours to complete tasks are very much needed.

As women we strived so hard for equal rights and the outcomes that these ladies before us were able to reach have helped us to have a voice. The downside is that the tasks from our previous role of home maker have not gone anywhere so we find ourselves with the double edged sword.

Fortunately this has created opportunities for some to create wonderful business to help fill the gap and support our family units in the areas of cleaning or providing us with healthy convenient meals. But this simply isn’t enough. Our mental health is suffering, and its not just women, men are feeling the pinch too.

We are simply not coping with this new demand. Adjust all we may this lack of connection to ourselves is driving us in to a point where Depression and Anxiety are simply becoming the norm. Life is not meant to be grey, life is suppose to be filled, with love, connection, fun and lots of colour.

Our Mental health is suffering and its not just women, men are feeling the pinch too.

So how can we change this?

With so much more awareness around this area of mental health, we are starting to have the conversations which will help us move forward.

Although, in saying this it is important to acknowledge that the change is not going to come from someone else, we must seek to learn and grow. The difference being is this learning is going to be in the form of personal grow. it is through self awareness that we will be able to implement the tools to unlock our potential and change the way in which we view the world.

I am going to be as bold as to say that our perception is the thing that is keeping you in this state of depression. It is our thinking which has created this current reality and it is through changing our thinking that it is possible to free ourselves from the negative trap in which you find yourself. Before you jump down my throat, understand I have suffered from these for around 15 years. And I can say with certainty that nothing in my life truly changed in the way I felt until I did the work on the inside.

This is where the magic lays, through this personal growth work you start to see the world in a whole new light, the sky becomes bluer and all the shades of colour become clearer. Although Life Coaching cannot cure your depression and anxiety it can help you to see all the colours that already exist in the world. It helps you to open your eyes to all the possibilities around you, therefore changing your thinking from a place of being stuck to a world where if you believe it, anything is possible. You do not need the live is LA to take advantage of opportunities, as they exist all around us.

Lets take it back a notch, even with a changed perspective, a fundamental key, we must look at filling our own cup. You may be in a position where you have no idea what you want to strive for or achieve, or the simple mention of it has sent you into a spin of uncertainty and fear. Know that this is all ok, because this is where you are starting from, but it doesn’t have to be your story. You can choose to change your story and you are allowed to start small, go for a walk a few times a week, you may find joy in quieting the mind in meditation. be kind to yourself because this ‘small’ step is actually a big step in a new direction, in a direction where you can relieve some of the stress in your life. Don’t underestimate the importance of these first steps, as a wise man or lady once said you can still climb a mountain one baby step at a time.

What do you want written into your new story? It is such a rewarding experience to start to think about how you want your life to be and start taking the actions towards bridging the gap from where you are to where you want to be. I new story is simply a conscious effort to make new decisions which will take you in a new exciting direction and discovering the opportunities that are currently awaiting you!
